Bird Box

Hello everyone and welcome back! Tonight I'm going to be talking about the new movie that was released on Netflix called "Bird Box". The movie was directed by Susanne Bier and stars Sandra Bullock. There are other supporting actors like Sara Pulson but mostly Sandra Bullock is the main character. Let me set the scene: Bullock plays a character named Mallory who is pregnant but is completely disconnected from her baby. It seems as though she has no feelings towards the baby at all. The movie is a fast action, meaning the action starts about 10 minutes into the movie. There is some type of presence that when people look at it, they either see their worst fears or they relive their worst tragedies which then makes them commit suicide. The movie is about Mallory's survival. They all wear blindfolds to protect their eyes from seeing and they have to rely on their other sences. The movie does do a lot of time jumps. It will go from being in the present to the past which does help with the suspense of the movie. I have seen some other reviews of this movie and some do not like the idea of showing mass suicide but I feel sometimes in order to reach the audience you have to push the limits. Yes it is sometimes hard to watch people just killing themselves but it has to be done to show the inpact this presence has over people. I won't reveal why the movie is called "Bird Box" but I will say it's very clever. This movie was extremly suspenseful because you didn't know what was going to happen. Would they take their blindfolds off? Would they listen to the voice telling them to harm themselves? It was a movie that kept you on the edge of your seat. If you enjoyed the movie "The Quiet Place" then I think you would like this movie. It has a similar feel. I give this movie a 8/10 for the pure storyline and emotions the characters protray.
